2. Meeting Point & Logistics.

Check-in Location: Meet your guide directly at the Rock Island State Park Offices and Visitor Center.

Transportation Note: Participants drive their own vehicles to and between park scenic stops as part of our current itinerary format.

3. Itinerary & Detailed Stops (Approx. 6 to 8 Hours Total).

• 09:00 AM – Welcome & Visitor Center Check-in: Meet the group, review the day’s schedule, conduct a safety briefing, and head out in your vehicles toward our first stop.

• Twin Falls Viewpoint: A dedicated visual and photography stop to admire the striking cascading waters from the power plant gorge. (Please note: swimming is not permitted at this specific viewpoint).

• Great Falls Hiking & Overlooks: A 2 to 3 hour immersive exploration featuring hikes around the dual overlooks, historic gorge trails, and the unique rock formations and mini-waterfalls along the cliffside.

• Sand Bar Beach & Pavilion (Lunch & Afternoon Relaxation): Head over to the park’s scenic beach area. Enjoy your packed lunch, relax by the water, and take advantage of our limited recreational equipment (kayaks and inflatable watercraft available for short rotational use, perfect for cooling off and splashing around).

• Sweet Finish at the Local Ice Cream Shop: We wrap up the active day around 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM by heading to the charming artisan ice cream shop near the park entrance to celebrate a great adventure with incredible local treats.

5. Safety & Guidelines.

• Park Regulations: Always follow marked paths, respect restricted swimming zones (such as Twin Falls), and wear provided float safety aids when using water equipment.

• Weather & Conditions: Outdoor itineraries are flexible and subject to adjustment based on park conditions and weather.

6. What to Bring / Preparation

• Comfortable Footwear: Sturdy walking shoes or hiking sneakers, plus water shoes or secure sandals with traction for wet areas.

• Quick-Dry Clothing & Swimwear: Lightweight, breathable, quick-drying clothing and swimwear, as outdoor activities involve high movement, potential sweat, and refreshing water interaction at the waterfalls and beach.

• Packed Picnic Lunch: Please bring your own portable lunch to enjoy during our scenic stop at Sand Bar Beach. (Note: If you have strict dietary preferences or food allergies, we kindly ask that you pack your preferred personalized meals).

• Sun & Hydration Gear: Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a reusable water bottle.

• Change of Clothes & Towel (Recommended): We strongly suggest leaving a towel and a complete change of dry clothes and shoes safely tucked in your vehicle. This allows you to freshen up comfortably after water activities before our final artisan ice cream stop and trip home!

• Spending Money: Bring a little extra cash or card for our traditional end-of-trip visit to the local ice cream shop.
